About the Sitemap Generator

An XML sitemap is a file that lists all the URLs you want search engines to index. Submitting a sitemap to Google Search Console helps crawlers discover your pages faster, especially on new or large sites. This generator builds a valid sitemap from your URL list with configurable priority and change frequency, then lets you download it ready to upload.

How to use the XML Sitemap Generator

  1. 1Paste your URLs into the text area, one per line. Include the full URL with https://.
  2. 2Set a default priority (0.0 to 1.0) and change frequency. These are hints to crawlers, not commands.
  3. 3Optionally set a last-modified date. If left blank, the current date is used.
  4. 4Review the generated XML in the preview panel, then copy or download it as sitemap.xml.

Best practices

  • Only include canonical URLs in your sitemap. Do not list redirects, noindex pages, or duplicate URLs.
  • Keep your sitemap under 50,000 URLs and 50 MB. If you exceed these limits, split into multiple sitemap files and use a sitemap index.
  • Set realistic change frequencies. Telling Google a page changes daily when it does not wastes crawl budget.
  • Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools after uploading it to your site root.
  • Update your sitemap when you publish or remove pages. Many CMS platforms generate sitemaps automatically.
